A polyamide F-1 flat belt 150 mm wide is used to transmit 1.5 kW under light shock conditions where (K_s=1.25). The pulley rotational axes are parallel and in the horizontal plane. The shafts are 2.7 m apart. The 50 mm driving pulley rotates at 1750 rev/min in such a way that the loose side is on top. The angular velocity ratio of 0.5 is used for the driven pulley. The factor of safety is for unquantifiable exigencies. (i) Estimate the centrifugal tension (F_c) and the torque T. (ii) Estimate the allowable (F_1,F_2,F_i) and allowable power (H_a).
