How does a galvanic cell differ from an electrolytic cell? Calculate the emf of the following cell at 25°C giving electrode reactions and cell reaction.

$$\mathrm{Cd(s)}\,\mathrm{Cd^{2+}}(0.01\,\mathrm{M})\parallel\mathrm{Cu^{2+}}(0.5\,\mathrm{M})\,\mathrm{Cu(s)}$$

$E^\circ_{\mathrm{Cd^{2+}/Cd}} = -0.140\,\mathrm{V}$, $E^\circ_{\mathrm{Cu^{2+}/Cu}} = 0.34\,\mathrm{V}$
