2082 ChaitraChapter 1: Review of Transmission Line1.4 Symmetrical Line and Mid Point Voltage of Symmetrical Line

A 100 km long, 132 kV (line to line), 50 Hz transmission line has parameters as follow: Resistance of the line : Negligible Inductance of the line : 1.85 mH /km The above line is used to transmit the power with sending end and receiving end voltage constant at 132 kV with a phase angle of 30$^{\circ}$ between them. Calculate: (i) The total power transmitted over the line and mid point voltage. (ii) A series compensator is to be used to achieve the power transmitted increased by 25%, calculate the amount of capacitance to be connected in series.
